Welcome to another episode of Mentor Minutes on the Mind of Business Success Podcast. I'm Alicia Cramer, your host. Today, we're delving into the power of making a committed decision. You might think you've already made decisions to achieve your goals, but let's challenge that. Often, we believe we're committed, but our results and responses to setbacks reveal otherwise.
Reflect on a time you made a true decision—whether it was buying a house, starting a business, or getting married. In those moments, there was no wavering, despite any doubts that might have surfaced. This kind of unwavering commitment is crucial for business success. Many business owners struggle because they have one foot in and one foot out, driven by fear.
A half-hearted decision is not a true decision; it's giving yourself an out. Just like you can't partially commit to buying a house, you can't partially commit to your goals. If you're not taking decisive actions towards your goals, ask yourself if you're holding back due to fear, doubt, or attachment to an old self-image. You need to step up and fully commit.
When your subconscious mind resists this commitment, it's a sign you haven't made a true decision. You need to work through these fears. This doesn't mean making reckless choices but addressing your genuine goals and dreams. Unresolved fears and old mental programming often hold us back, but these can be shifted.
I've seen this with my clients and experienced it myself. When you truly commit to your goals, you'll start taking different actions and seeing different results. Here's a practical step: Write down your goal in the present tense as if it's already achieved. Notice any resistance or lack of emotion. This exercise helps identify limiting beliefs and subconscious blocks.
Ask yourself why you believe you can't achieve this goal and why you don't have it yet. These answers reveal your limiting beliefs and self-image issues. Document these insights so you can work on releasing and reprogramming them. True decisions often come without knowing the exact path forward, but commitment drives you to find a way.
To change your subconscious mind, identify and release limiting beliefs using tools like EFT tapping or the Sedona Method. These techniques help remove the negative emotional charge from old beliefs, allowing new, positive beliefs to take root.
