Welcome to another Mentor Minutes segment of the Mind of Business Success Podcast for entrepreneurs committed to being in the top 1% of their field. I'm Alicia Cramer, and today we're going to talk about how to break free from self-sabotage. I want this segment to be transformational for you, so let's dive in.

We understand that we are conditioned as children. We learn these things, and it's not always that your parents, siblings, or authority figures directly said, "You're not worthy," or "You shouldn't have that." Sometimes, they did, but often these beliefs were inferred from their actions and words. We began to imprint these beliefs, which became a foundational part of our structure, building internal, often unconscious, defense mechanisms.

So, why do we block ourselves when we have good intentions to improve our lives, make more money, and provide for our families? Why do we stop ourselves from gaining traction and positive momentum? Now you understand the short version of why we have this subconscious programming and why we self-sabotage.

If you've followed my YouTube videos, or if you're in the Business Mastery Academy or any of my other programs, you know I delve into this in much more detail. Today, I want this episode to be one you can listen to repeatedly to help break free from these subconscious programs.

Identifying Self-Sabotage

First, let's talk about how to identify what you're doing to yourself. Sometimes, these things are hiding in plain sight. We can see the effects of limiting beliefs, feel the fear or self-doubt, but we don't always know what's causing these feelings. Recognize that your emotions are the gateway to change.

For example, if you feel fear, understand that it will lead you to the self-limiting belief. It's not about tracing back to the origins of these beliefs; sometimes, that's beneficial, but it can also trap us in a mental loop. Instead, acknowledge the fear. It was programmed into you.

People often confuse instinctual fear (like being chased by a wild animal) with programmed fear. I'm talking about the fear that arises when you receive a bill and you're already in a scarcity mindset. This fear can be intense and disruptive. Acknowledge it: "This was programmed into me, but it is just a belief."

You can perceive this situation differently. There are many ways to react, and your current reaction is just one option. By choosing a different perception, you interrupt the old pattern.

Changing the Pattern

Say to yourself, "I am feeling this fear because I choose to believe I need to." Fill in the reason why. This acknowledgment and choice give you the opportunity to make a different decision. You interrupt the old pattern and become conscious of your subconscious mind's activities.

When you do this, you might need to repeat it a few times. You'll feel a shift, indicating you are changing the program.

Applying the Technique

Now, apply this to other emotions. For example, if you feel doubt or frustration, say, "I am feeling [emotion] because I choose to believe [reason]." This takes ownership of your mind and acknowledges that beliefs, unlike universal laws, can be changed.

Beliefs are powerful. We often default to old thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, which leads to self-sabotage. If you don't believe something else is possible, you'll keep reverting to old patterns.

Consistency and Reprogramming

Consistency is key. Use this technique frequently. Our minds are full of old, negative programs, and we need to replace them with new, empowering beliefs.

In my Business Mastery Academy, I provide tools and resources to help you reprogram your mind. From hypnosis audios to releasing processes, there's so much to support your journey.

Conclusion

Identify your negative emotions and acknowledge them. Say, "I am feeling [emotion] because I choose to believe [reason]." Prove to yourself whether this works. It might take time, but it's worth it.

Give yourself permission to use this process. Take control of your subconscious mind. Your mind is powerful, and with conscious effort, it can be a positive force in your life.
